Synopsis (short abstract)

This report provides an in-depth evaluation of Kenya’s national budget allocations in relation to the country’s obligations to ensure the right to food. It focuses on how budgetary decisions impact food security, agricultural development, and nutrition-related programs, highlighting the government’s efforts and gaps in fulfilling its constitutional duty to provide adequate food for all. The analysis emphasizes the alignment (or lack thereof) of budget priorities with the needs of marginalized communities, smallholder farmers, and food sustainability initiatives.
